The Center for China and Globalization (CCG) is a leading international think tank in China with extensive international influence. CCG is the first Chinese social think tank to enter the top 100 in the world and the first Chinese think tank to obtain special consultative status with the United Nations. It has been ranked as the top social think tank in China on multiple authoritative think tank rankings both domestically and internationally. CCG has nearly 100 full-time think tank researchers and professionals, making it one of the largest social think tanks in China. In the Global Think Tank Report 2020 by the University of Pennsylvania, CCG has been ranked 64th on the top 100 global think tanks for four consecutive years. CCG is also the director unit of the "the Belt and Road" Think Tank Alliance of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the national talent theory research base of the Central Talent Work Coordination Group, the seat of the International Talent Professional Committee of the Chinese Talent Research Association of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the founding director unit of the "American Research Think Tank Alliance" of the Ministry of Finance, and has the qualification of a postdoctoral research station awarded by the state, the group director unit of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the vice chairman unit of the China Public Relations Association.
While emphasizing the cultivation of its own researchers, CCG has formed an international research network composed of outstanding experts and scholars at home and abroad, continuously conducting leading research in the field of China and globalization development with an international research perspective. CCG publishes over 10 monographs in both Chinese and English each year, and researches, writes, and publishes a series of research reports. CCG publicly shares its research results with the society and has published and distributed hundreds of thousands of related books and reports to date. The research results have received hundreds of thousands of annual online visits.
CCG has participated in promoting and influencing policies related to the development of many countries and global governance, and has written and provided suggestions for reference, regularly submitting targeted reports to national agencies and various ministries. CCG's multiple suggestions have been approved by the central leadership, providing reference for relevant departments to make major decisions and continuously supporting and promoting government decision-making and institutional innovation.
CCG actively explores a diverse range of think tank activities, holding multiple high-end "brand" forums with international perspectives, influence, and constructiveness every year. As one of the earliest think tanks in China to "go global", CCG has held side events at important international occasions such as the Paris Peace Forum, Munich Security Conference, and Davos World Economic Forum. At the same time, CCG has become an important platform for exchanges and communication among embassies, international politicians, international think tanks, and international organizations. Through receiving visits, organizing roundtable seminars, and hosting speeches by renowned experts, CCG has built a bridge and regular mechanism for communication between China and foreign countries, fully leveraging the role of think tank second track diplomacy.
